Primary purpose of the role: To help calculate and work out costs, labour and equipment for our habitat restoration, landscaping and rewilding projects and others when required.
About the role
Reporting to our Bid Manager, you will oversee the estimating for all major projects, develop and enhance our supply chain, source and price sustainable materials, ensure costs remain in line with current forecasts, whilst highlighting any potential commercial risks to the business. You will maintain a strong and professional working relationship with customers and help to build new relationships with potential new clients.
You will also be required to attend site visits and tender meetings when needed.
What qualifications & experience will you need?
- A relevant qualification in estimating, landscape design or architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- Experience of preparing take offs / build ups from CAD and other mapping software
- Familiarity with pricing for a range of contract types including JCT, NEC and / or JCLI
- Significant previous experience within the landscaping or environmental sector
- Knowledge of how ecological conditions can affect a proposed design
- Microsoft Office skills and experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
You will have a professional and proactive approach to your work, whilst being an effective communicator and willing to learn new skills in tender preparation.
The drive and focus to beat deadlines at all times, excellent organisational skills, and attention to detail would be a key asset for the role, whilst also possessing good interpersonal skills that enable you to work with a diverse workforce.

Location: Home based with travel to site and meetings when required.
