About the role 


We require an experienced Estimator to help us calculate costs, labour and equipment for various projects including habitat restoration, landscaping and rewilding. 


Reporting to our Bid Manager, you will oversee the estimating for all major civils and non-civils projects. Working alongside our existing bid team, you will be responsible for further developing our extensive supply chain and for sourcing and pricing sustainable materials and subcontractors. You will also ensure costs are in line with current forecasts, whilst highlighting any potential commercial risks to the business. You will maintain a strong and professional working relationship with customers and helping to build new relationships with potential new clients.


You will also be required to attend site visits and tender meetings when required

About you 


You will have a professional and proactive approach to your work, whilst being an effective communicator and willing to learn new skills in tender preparation.Exceptional organisational skills, and attention to detail is key, as are good interpersonal skills that enable you to work with a diverse workforce. 

You will need: 

·        A relevant qualification in estimating, landscape design or architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. 

·        Familiarity with pricing for a range of contract types including JCT (joint contracts tribunal), NEC (new engineering contract) and / or JCLI(joint council for landscape industries)

·        Significant previous experience within the landscaping or environmental sector. 

·        Microsoft Office skills and experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

·        Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle. 


It would be great If you had: 

      ·        Experience of preparing take offs / build ups from CAD and other mapping software. 

·        Knowledge of the principles of cost estimating. 

·        Ability to accurately interpret study, engineering, and construction documents and drawings

·        All round communication, written and presentation skills.
