Ecosulis is thrilled to announce that Jeff Davitt has been appointed as the company's new nature recovery finance director. With a background in business and accounting and a longstanding passion for wild nature, he brings a unique and hugely valuable skillset to the position.

In addition to assisting Ecosulis with day-to-day business planning, Jeff will focus on developing business models for the company's natural asset and natural capital assessment and mapping services, as well as the development of conservation and rewilding finance mechanisms and biodiversity and carbon markets. He will also strengthen the company's engagement with grant and innovation funds.
With a wealth of business experience and commercial expertise, Jeff Davitt is also passionate about rewilding and wild nature.
"I'm delighted to be joining Ecosulis at this exciting time in the company's development," says Jeff. "Today there is an urgent need to address our ecological and climate emergencies. As part of the highly experienced Ecosulis team, I'm really looking forward to developing pragmatic ways to accelerate nature recovery for the benefit of people and planet."
Jeff's love of nature has more recently led to an interest in rewilding, which he believes can rapidly restore natural abundance and biodiversity. In July 2020 he co-founded the Yorkshire Rewilding Network, a charity of which he is currently chair. The aim of the network is promote rewilding in Yorkshire by connecting like-minded people, enabling them to share ideas and experiences, learn more about practical rewilding projects, and be inspired to take action.
"I see rewilding encompassing everything from wilder gardens giving people a connection with nature, through nature-friendly farming, to the recovery of large-scale areas where natural processes can reshape ecosystems and landscapes," says Jeff. "In these difficult times, rewilding's inclusive, pragmatic approach to conservation is particularly inspirational. Supporting Ecosulis's nature recovery work will allow me to combine my passion for rewilding with innovation and real action on the ground."
