Ecosulis wins high-profile awards for innovative BQC app

The groundbreaking app, which helps users measure changes in biodiversity quality, beat off strong competition to win its category at the BusinessGreen Technology Awards 2018 in December.  This was followed with further recognition at the FSB (Federation of Self Employed & Small Businesses) Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019 in February.

Ecosulis is thrilled to announce that its innovative Biodiversity Quality Calculator (BQC) scooped first place in the app of the year category at the annual BusinessGreen Technology Awards last December. Increasingly employed by a broad spectrum of clients, as well as Ecosulis employees, the app - which beat off competition from the likes of BT and Pure Planet - is now delivering value and improving conservation outcomes at a diverse range of sites across the United Kingdom.

"Everyone at Ecosulis is naturally delighted to have won such a prestigious award in a very competitive field," says Ecosulis managing director Cain Blythe. "The team here has always invested heavily in technology as we look to provide innovative solutions to today's conservation challenges. This award is recognition for that, and for the time spent developing this user-friendly app."

"We were hugely impressed with the Biodiversity Quality Calculator," adds James Murray, editor-in-chief of BusinessGreen magazine, which oversees the awards. "The judges described the app as an effective means of navigating complex biodiversity indicators and praised its influential client base."

Now in their fourth year, the BusinessGreen Technology Awards were presented at a glittering ceremony at the May Fair Hotel in London on December 7.  Showcasing some of the most exciting green technology businesses in the UK to investors, policymakers and prospective customers, they celebrate cutting edge technologies and innovators that are working to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy.

Further recognition

Ecosulis followed up its BQC award success last December with another win this February, with the app taking first prize in the Business and Product Innovation category at the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019.
