Attenborough Lakes Wetland Enhancement Gets off to a Great Start

Our team have  completed the first phase of a large reed bed creation scheme at the Attenborough Lakes Nature Reserve in Nottingham on behalf of the Environment Agency.  This involved the planting of 44,000 aquatic plants into a man made bed which will form a new reedbed covering 0.6 hectares.

The project presented many challenges that the team has risen to and the project has been delivered on time and within budget. Due to the expert knowledge provided by the planting team, Ecosulis were requested to undertake an additional area of trial planting (5,000 reeds) within a notoriously difficult area for establishing reedbeds.

Spring 2012 will see us back on site to plant 150,000 plants into different areas of the nature reserve.
